Mark's works have earned grand prize and best in show awards. The Philadelphia Tri-State Artists Equity Association held a solo show of Mark's work in 2014.
Mark attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia for two years, studying painting and sculpting. Prior to PAFA, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame in the Great Books Program, with a minor concentration in painting.
Mark is a member of the Philadelphia Tri-State Artist’s Equity Association and the Center for Emerging Visual Artists in Philadelphia. He is also a member of the Hamilton Collective Gallery, in Baltimore.
“I was delighted to recognize an artist that isn’t as traditional…Mark Mellett’s work is very iconic, almost like cave drawings...and the scale of his work was very impressive, so that’s the artist I selected for the solo show award.”
